Should I upgrade to Win 10?

So as the title suggests I am just wondering weather or not to upgrade to Windows 10.

 

I am currently running Win 7 64-bit with a GTX 980 Ti and a i7-4790K so as you can tell I am also gaming on this rig as well so I was also wondering weather or not Nvidia has gotten their stuff together and actually fixed the drivers yet.

I agree, i took the chance and it did not pay off, have issues with things left, right & center, will be digging out the Windows 7 DVD & license ASAP.

Yes and no. if you like a cool speedy looking interface with xbox integration and many other cool features go for it. If you hate restarting every hour due to memory leaks don't upgrade.

As an early Windows 10 adopter, I would wait, but if you really want to do it, it's *mostly* functional, with a few bugs here and there.

I think I got luck with windows 10, upgraded my xps 13 and not a single problem to be seen, I game a bit on it (as far as the igpu can handle) and always leave it on, have nothing to complain about..

ive been on windows 10 sense launch day and had no issues only one driver crash because i enabled shadow play in game and nvidia shit the bed but i guess thats my fault.

 

i think you should but do a clean install

first of all...do the clean install

thats will solve 90% of the problems

next...get the absolute newest drivers from station drivers

 

ive done the upgrade to windows 10 now on 26 pc's and not one has had problems after the clean install and driver update

other then the nvidia and amd drivers......which isn't windows fault

The biggest problem right now is drivers.

Nearly all manufactures made their Win10 drivers at the last minute, and not when the OS was in beta.

So if you don't mind some graphical issues here and there... possibly (depends on your hardware configuration), reduce battery life, due to some hardware not power saving properly, or at all, potential sleep issues, and possibly not get the max gaming performance. in exchange to play around with the OS, then go for it.

If you do the upgrade, be sure to remove ANY security software installed, including A/V, anti-malware, and firewall (Microsoft security essential as well if you are under Win7), upgrade, then install them back. Microsoft recommendation. Also, be sure to update ALL your drivers, this includes: SATA controller, Ethernet, wireless, etc, BEFORE starting the process, and make sure device manager shows no error. If you have an Nvidia GPU, don't install GeForce experience, nor 3D vision, and check the box to do a clean install (all under Advanced section of the setup).

If you used registry cleaner, or previously had an virus/malware on your system, the you want to upgrade to get the upgrade, then clean install.

If you want the best experience, wait until all companies that affects you have released newer drivers. Most manufactures focused to have something out, but all done in a rush.

So as the title suggests I am just wondering weather or not to upgrade to Windows 10.

 

I am currently running Win 7 64-bit with a GTX 980 Ti and a i7-4790K so as you can tell I am also gaming on this rig as well so I was also wondering weather or not Nvidia has gotten their stuff together and actually fixed the drivers yet.

I'd say go for it. I downloaded and installed Windows 10 hours after it launched and have had absolutely zero issues with it. In fact, I'd say it was the smoothest OS transition I've ever experienced. It was painless.
