Prime 95 Settings for CPU Temperature Tests

iTonyy

Just wondering which setting was best to test my cpu (3570k) for temperatures.

I'm running it at stock and I just want to know my current max temps as reference for when I overclock.

Do I test with large FTTs for maximum heat, blend or is there a optimized custom setting?

3770k, Asrock Extreme 4, 16GB Dominator Plat, AX760i, 250GB BX100, 1.5TB Seagate, Win 7 Home Prem

I run the FPU test in Aida64 , really high temps really fast.

I believe small FFT gives the highest temps. Really though, you're just stressing your cooling system :p

Or you could use Intel Burn Test at Maximum setting, now that's when your temperatures fly up in a matter of a few seconds.

One instance of blend, and one instance of small fft.
Yea agreed for 24 hours if you overclock to make sure its 100% stable.

Be sure to also monitor your temps with real temp to make sure your cpu won't overheat

I prefer a 48 hour weekend run, but which 24 is good enough in a lot of people's eyes.

Small FFTs if you want to test the core.

Custom blend with >80% of your RAM for the best possible stability test.

Am teating my cpu right and what i noticed ia that i get higher temps when doing the intel burn teat than prime95, so i advice doing the intel burn test to check for the highest temps..

Intel Burn Test basically stresses the CPU and RAM at maximum stress when you start it.

Blend for testing stability on your system. Small FFTs ( i believe) to test temps / heatsink..
