Amd Switch To Intel What Should I Buy

I upgrade every 2 years any mate so I just want to try intel now

ill be upgrading in December 2016 so and zen is release q3 of 2016? I think so ill be bale to tell then if zen is as good/ better than intel and make choice then but for now intel is better so ye

don't play any of the and have gta v on xbox one and there wont be any dx 12 till 2016 fable legends is the only one (that's decent) announced to be dx12

Most AAA new titles will support DX12. Gears of War remake for example.

gear of war remake seems stupid to me they should of done it like master chief collection for halo the whole collection

But FX is good to multi-task if you want better then you probably most get i7 or Xeon for 1150 socket or better?

I only have 2-4 things open at time I don't keep stuff open I hate clutter lol so my multi tasking on my fx only fit like 20-40% load whilst gaming maybe 60% max

I got 70fps+ on amd fx 8320 lol with wow I'm not unhappy with my amd I just wanted to change to intel that's all

So im switiching from AMD as i decided that waiting for Zen will not be worth it as Zen will possibly be shit liek most AMD CPU's

 

So As i currently have a AMD FX 8320 what is the best (cheapest) Intel Alternative.

 

I mainly play games but multit-task a lot with streaming videos and watching tv on my pc as well as light video editing and rendering and photo editing with ilustrator and photoshop

 

so im think a i5 (i dont want to spend more that £200 on the cpu so if you can get a i7 for that that would be sweet)

 

im looking at the Intel Core i5-4690K with a MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  along side it is this good option for what i need or can i do better?

I have always been a amd fan boy so I'm taking the CPU and motherboard out of my AMD rig to put in intel I have R9 290 GPU that I'm gonna stick with for now as budget is tight to upgrade

 

 

One thing for sure you don't need an i7.

 

It sounds like you do pretty much exactly what I do but on a lighter level. The i5-4690k or i5-4790k would be a perfect CPU for you to buy. It handles pretty much everything -- just slow to render things down when video editing. 

 

Like others posted you could drop down in MOBO and buy a cheaper one and shoot for the i7, but I know for me I also enjoy looking at my PC lol. So if you are buying for looks go for it, OR if you are buying because you will use the extra features it offers go for it. If you just are going to buy because it is expensive there are MANY other options that will save you tons of money.

 

Personal use I have found that ASRock boards are quite nice and OC well. I also hear very good things from MSI and ASUS. -- If you want suggestions let me know.

MSI Z97S Sli Krait Editoin Motherboard buying this as it matches my ram and all my black wires and gonna get pure white air cooler to go with it should look sic

if you know anything cheaper than £86 that has 8 power phase for OC and some decent features maybe sli if possible just for expandability altho as I upgrade in December 2016 a single dpu will be cool or just crossfire
