Budget gaming laptop for a friend

I'm trying to recommend a sub $550 laptop for a friend.

He is looking for something that he could use as a standalone for school, but also use to game at home or when traveling to lan parties.

He doesn't want something really big, (15" is probably about the max), and he doesn't mind having a sub 1080p screen.

He will mostly be playing games like Team Fortress 2, Escapists, and other lighter load games.

Best things I have found is this: http://www.amazon.com/X550ZA-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Windows-Upgrade/dp/B0126BJD2Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1438828451&sr=8-2&keywords=ASUS+X550ZA

AMD Quad Core A10-7400P Processor with AMD Radeon R6 graphics
8GB DDR3
1 TB hard drive (5400 rpm)

DVD-RW/CD-RW drive
15.6" display (1366 x 768)

And also this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1127991-REG/lenovo_20dh002tus_e555_a10_7300_4_500gb_windows_7pro_windows_8_1pro_15_6.html

1.9 GHz AMD A10-7300 Quad-Core
4GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM
500GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
AMD Radeon R7 M260DX (2GB)

Is one of these the best bet or are there others that could be recommended?

Thanks guys!

The words "budget" and "gaming laptop" don't really go hand in hand. Those aren't bad laptops, but you're not going to get any sort of enjoyable gaming experience with them.

"LTT's official.."STOP. I promise you aren't LTT's official bagel eater or whatever. Trust me.

I FORGOT SOMETHING!!

He will only be playing games like Team fortress 2, the Escapists, and maybe some emulation games. Nothing that is too demanding, but he wants higher framerates than 30 fps at 720p... (Old dell desktop is what he is currently using.)
