Hello boys,

I want to buy a headset mainly for gaming, and i'm pretty sure that i need help to get a good, i was going to purchase the sennheiser g4me zero but sadly sennheiser doesn't ship to my country nor amazon.

I saw some reviews for the steelseries siberia elite prism, i've watched tons of reviews here and there most of them were reviewing it as a headphone and testing the sound quality by hearing music and they didn't try to use it in-game.. so if anyone bought this headset could you tell me your thoughts about it? is it good to pinpoint all the enemies and things like that?

If you have any good ideas for a headset not HEADPHONES please share them, it would be great :).

my budget for the headset is 150$ so give me your thoughts for a good gaming headset.

Thank you all for your opinions, great headsets have been mentioned up like the hyperX cloud, logitech g430.

I want to make somethings clear, i don't want any headphone just headsets because i don't listen/watch music/movies that much to get a superb headphone out there, i'm not into audiophile things.

I'm looking for a good, simple headset for gaming mainly, i don't care a lot how the headset do in the headphones tests because most of the headphones just to watch movies and listening to music.

To be more accurate, i need a headset that can and will help me to pinpoint all of my enemies in csgo, bf4, if anyone has steelseries siberia elite prism or razer kraken 7.1 chroma or razier tiamat 7.1 give me your thoughts about it.

Everyone will say HyperX Cloud yet there actually not the best for shooters. I'd go for a SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism. Has better bass and frequency range. Also it has software so you can tweak the sound. Only problem is the mic kinda sucks. People bash certain companies when really there not that bad unless if its Razer.

Thank you mate, actually this kind of thoughts i was looking for to get, a thought that actually consider GAMING not audiophile things.

I saw some people complaining about "a clicking sound while they're recording" to be honest i didn't know if they were talking about the Elite or the Elite prism if you can make this point clear it would be great, and what did they mean by while they are recording? am i going to get it when i am using ts3 or mumble?

I assume that is with the SteelSeries Siberia Elite non prism. My guess is that someone on there team using skype or ts3 had a really bad mic and picked up clicking from there mouse and or keyboard. The mic on the siberia elite prism is noise canceling in the software.

it did help, i'm looking for more opinions that's all, so i can make my decision.

G430 is the crap of the crap, sound is shallow and the headset is really cheap feeling, had one and returned it same day was that bad, the hyper x cloud is decent. I would personally get a HD 558 and a clip on mic though. Sound is sound, and a gaming headset doesn't mean it's better for games. For example you see summit1g, wearing audiophile audiotechnicas, and he's still good.

Intel Core i7 7770K | 32 GB's Ram 3000MHz | GTX 1080 Ti | 250GB SSD | 3TB 7400 RPM | Sound Blaster Z | ASUS ROG MG278Q | Razer Blackwidow Chroma | Final Mouse 2015 | Blue Yeti | Seinheiser HD 600's | Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro | Aune T1 MK2

Thank you for your opinion, even tho summit is a streamer, that's why he needs a clip mic to get the best sound quality out of his mic, so people could hear his voice clearer than any headset mic, you don't see professional players (in csgo) using clip mic or so, and i don't want to get more equipment and put them on my desk, just a simple things.

I don't want to get a headphone and pay over 150$ and then pay 50$ to get a clip mic, it's pretty useless unless you are a streamer or a youtuber. What i meant by gaming headset i don't mean test it with music things, test it with games footsteps..etc they called it a gaming headset for a reason, of course you won't get the headphones sound quality while listening to music but common it's not like you are spending 24/7 listening to music

Hello boys

Why not boys and girls?

you don't see professional players (in csgo) using clip mic or so, and i don't want to get more equipment and put them on my desk, just a simple things.

and then pay 50$ to get a clip mic, it's pretty useless unless you are a streamer or a youtuber.

You don't see pro players using clip mics because they are either sponsored (for online matches, where they actually wear the sponsor gear) or they wear those insane RIG mics that are used because they are one of the few things that can cut through the sound of the audience at LAN events. It has everything to do with being sponsored, or needing the equipment, because that's the only way to hear everything. Oh, and if you're going to talk about CSGO Pros, they ALL (literally every single one of them) use in ear monitors at LANs because those are the only things that can A: Be combined with the RIG gear for more isolation than already present and B: they already provide huge amounts of isolation.

Now, I use a pair of Hifiman HE-500 for gaming in CS:GO, and they are AMAZING. If you want the greatest advantage in the game, you will buy a pair of open back headphones and a clip mic. Bar none, a good pair of open back headphones and a mic will be the best option, period. Open back headphones, 99% of the time will give you better directionality in a game than any other type of headphone (In ears excluded). Clip mics actually usually have pretty crap sound quality, all things considered (until you get into the $500+ range). Summit doesn't know much of anything about audio. Clip mics are literally good enough because twitch already compresses the audio, so it's easier to send, so you don't get the best quality in the first place. If you really wanted professional audio, you would be spending a few hundred dollars on something that you put on a shock mount with a mic arm.

Now, as far as clip mics go, something like this http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1438938788&sr=8-1&keywords=Zalman+clip+mic Zalman Clip mic will sound as good, or better than almost any headset, and it's a $10 mic.

As such, go buy whatever Sennheiser open backs are in your budget, and get the Zalman clip mic.

P.S. I'd like to point out that if you want to do well at games like CS, headphones that place an emphasis on treble, rather than bass are significantly better, because they will accentuate footsteps even through gunshots and explosions, making you more likely to hear whoever is sneaking up behind you.

P.P.S. Just about all audio programs and games with voice chat will have the same compression thing, which will limit sound quality for voices, however, CS:GO got a much better codec a few months ago, so voices sound excellent now.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

Second of all, check most of the csgo players (Europeans) they use headsets not headphones because they know actually which is better for this game specifically, the people i can tell they use a headphones and a clip mic just streamers and youtubers then most of the Americans.

Plus your point about headphones give great and better bass in games better than the headsets. This point is useless mate, they give a better bass while you are listening to music or watching movies, since the headphones are better, clearer and greater then why most of the csgo community uses headsets?. Most of the members here recommend headphones over headsets in csgo even in other websites because most of them plays bf4,cod and some other games, they don't play csgo that much to give a biased opinion about the sound in it.

Regards i will mark it as 'solved'

I'm a SMFC in CSGO and I'd say, the reason more people have headset's is because they don't know any better.

Are you implying most of the professional csgo players don't know any better headsets? trust me they do, there is a reason why they use headsets over headphones, and i'm pretty sure they know better than me and you about which headset is better to pinpoint enemies and things like that.

If i may ask, where are you from?

No they don't HAVE to, if the sponsors are sh*t they won't use them let me give you an example NiP players use sennheiser, QPAD and steelseries headsets i am wondering why they didn't pick up a headphones instead..

Excuse me for them, but I don't think you are eligible to point to your 'rank' since the U.S known to be bad in csgo and their high ranks compared to the lower ranks in the rest of the world, i'm sorry but this is the truth, and lots of Americans told me to get headphones coincidence? i don't think so.

Anyway, thank you for you honest opinion and i do respect it.

They don't have a choice, and I'm glad you think a headset makes the player, keep thinking that, you must be the master of csgo for wearing a headset. Do you

think they really wanna wear two headset's all the time? It's sponsorship, which make all the kids that watch buy their headset's, they don't magically make you better at csgo as you are claiming, sound is sound and a headset won't make a game sound better. Please go ahead and waste you're money you're exactly the unsuspecting people the sponsors are after.

They do have a choice trust that mate ;), did i say that the headset makes the player? it's great that you use your imagination, and trust me i'm not looking for tips about csgo since you are pointing that the headsets are useless in this game play with-out them and let's see your score after towards.

Instead of giving me great reviews about headphones and how they sound while listening to music, use them for games then give me your review, since most of the csgo community uses steelseries, razer, sennheiser headsets then most of the community are kids, stop hating things you haven't try.

Since you are claiming they HAVE to then why most of the community prefers headsets over headphone and a clip mic? do they have to as well? great to hear that the companies have contracts with over 1 million people gr8 b8 m8. "This is your logic, if i like headsets and i use them then the manufacturer sponsor me did i have to use their gear? based on your logic yes of course, get your facts right before you post an old pictures without knowing since when they use steelseries products or any headset company."

And i'm pretty sure you got angry because i said about your rank as a low rank compared to other countries, i will tell you again the last part of my old response, i appreciate your opinion and i respect it, i gave you my opinion you got angry. If i bothered you excuse me and I'm sorry. have a good day.
