So.

The price difference between the i5-4690K and I5-6600K is $30, including RAM, MoBo and CPU costs.

CPU-cooler will be purchased after I got it up and running, don't worry. Case is preference so not relevant.

Both the motherboards fit in my needs, so don't worry about it 'not looking fancy' or lack of unused USB 3.0 ports.

Potential 10% more performance. But 1,1*427.79 = 470,57 so i5-4690k is better value FYI

Please, give me your advice.

I might want to add that the higher price will result in a cheaper after-market CPU cooler.

Newer chip is always better. Seeing as the price is so similar, go 6600 for sure.

What cooler would you purchase with the 30 dollar less? I'd still recommend 6600K regardless :P

if you're really worried about $30 then i'd advise to not drive that much for 1 week. Sorry but its kind of funny that you are worried about $30 when you will be using this PC for a minimum of 2 years?

Easy saving $30. That is 4 times mcdonalds dude

I'm not going to use the options, i think.. I'm just going to use 1 GPU and overclock a bit, that's it.

It has better support for SATA Express (higher bandwidth) and newer, faster storage in general

In general i would say getting a new chipset, newer CPU and DDR4 ram for 30$ is absolutely worth it. The chipset alone, and you're set with the new ram standard for like 6 years so, again, totally worth it.

Why old stock LGA1156, you mean a stock cooler? cause the CPU will come with it's own stock cooler

the 6600k doesn't come with a stock cooler here for some reason. The retailer put it in the description.

And yeah with old stock 1156 i mean a unused stock cooler that came with my i5-760.

Silly argument... If your arguing that 10% doesn't matter then why would you pick a 4690k over a 2550k? Save more then 30$.

Intel has been making 5-10% bumps in performance for a while, it's fair to assume they will keep doing it. Get the best you can afford and use it until it's no longer able to meet your needs. There is no "wrong" choice Intel is pricing everything very appropriatly.

In 1 year people will tell you to buy the skylake instead of the cannon even though the price of skylake will only be 20$ cheep then it is now.

Just a thought, if it doesn't come with a stock cooler, maybe it's meant for better aftermarket cooling. And it's always good to have a little something so you can overclock if you want. I think the thermalright macho lineup doesn't get enough credit, they are very high quality, not expensive and they cool like an NH-D14, like, really good. If not, a cryorig H7 or be quiet! pure rock are solid choices for more budget oriented builds

Didn't know what stores to link so i'm linking UK stores, you can buy from those? If not, i still recomend those coolers

Don't add the price of the cooler since if you got the older CPU you would need a cooler more than with the 6600K, the older the platform the more useful overclocking is.

Do you even know how expensive that shit is. No, i don't need 3 ghz memory.

yes 20euro more, for a significant performance increase in games. Buy cheap, buy twice.
