I'm a first time PC builder and I'm having trouble getting my build to post (so much for first timers luck). Thankfully, I assembled my PC outside of my case. I plugged my PSU in, connected it to my graphics card, CPU, and plugged in my ram sticks. I first plugged my graphics card into an apple monitor via DVI cable, but now it's plugged into a TV via HDMI. When I short the power plug, the lights on my graphics card turn on and all fans start. As far as I can tell, everything is being sufficiently powered since the fans are running like normal. I tried moving the graphics card to several different PCI slots, but still no post. Tried switching the ram sticks, moving them to different slots, and powering on with one ram stick - still nothing. Next I triple checked the power connections (though I highly doubt that's the issue). Then I checked the cpu for bent pins, found none. I have no motherboard speaker to test beep codes...

What do I do next?

Specs
Mobo: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3

CPU: FX-6350
Ram: Corsair Vengeance (2 x 8gb)
GPU: XFX R9 290
PSU: EVGA Nex 650G

Thanks in advance!

Try the video output on the motherboard. If nothing then try reseating the CPU and RAM.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

I don't think my motherboard has built in graphics... When you say reseating, do you mean taking out, checking twice, then putting it back in? I've done that a couple of time with ram, once with my cpu. I'm almost 100% they're both on correctly.

i dont think that amd FX series cpus dont have onboard video so you cant check if that works .. .sadly

Right cause its an FX CPU...

I knew that. :P

If reseating isn't working, you might have to try RMAing the CPU or motherboard...

Are you getting other signs of life from it when you power it on?

Not that I can tell. As I said, I don't have a motherboard speaker (will be arriving on Wednesday), so I can't test post beeps. I'm fairly sure there isn't a post light on my mobo, so I can't test that either. Would you happen to know what an EZ_Plug is? I've heard that plugging it in can solve a lot of problems....

Try clearing the cmos either with the jumper or by removing the battery, and triple check that your cpu fan is plugged into the cpu fan header and not a chassis header
