Will wireless EVER be as good as wired or will it always lack the ability to transmit as fast as wired? Like I know we now have 1ms response wireless gaming mice and headsets. But are they truly as good as wired or will they still always lack the response time of a wired option?

wireless will never be as good, it will always have packet loss once a while no matter how good it is and it will always have a response time compared to wired

wireless is fine for downloading and getting bandwidth but for gaming without lag 24/7 i would recommend staying on the cable :D

well i have no issues with wireless, my ping is the same as it is wired and ping is all i care about, my download speed is good though.

download speed is more consistent though.

Wired also doesn't have to worry about a dead battery killing your gaming experience ^_~

no but if the cable breaks?

I've only ever had to worry about cable damage when I was at a friend's place, using a cheap mouse and he had a rabbit running around the apartment. My current mouse is a Razer Naga MOBA gaming mouse, which has a braided cable which protects the actual cable from damage.

Wireless will never be s good, but it can be good enough that you won't notice the problems. My logitech g602 has beaten both problems of being wireless: battery life and latency. For battery life, it lasts months without needing new batteries, so thats good enough for me. For latency, I don't notice any input lag, so it also good enough there.

In Theory they can both travel speed of light so its the decoding of signals that takes the time. Once we break sub ms for the whole process neither will matter. At present it could come down to parameters, traveling through air might be quicker than cable if you made to cable lenght absurd.
