How can I add more padding to my chair?

I think I will give it a try, if it doesn't work out I can always just add some padding like you said. Thanks!

Also, if it doesn't pan out well try to find those outlet stores near you that don't have any real employees working there and mountains of furniture everywhere. Went to one in downtown PDX and got my decent office chair for 20 bucks.
