I am I still have chrome installed, but it is only used for watching netflix. I think that Vivaldi is way better than the others

A sensible idea, but if you're looking for reasons as to why its RAM usage is astronomical, this is it.

Its not an idea that was the "selling" points for Chrome, you didn't lose all your work if flash decided to crash a tab. Isolating each tab as a different process was the whole idea

Yes, but a direct consequence is the big argument against using Chrome.

I use FireFox and Chrome.  When one takes a dump and has issues I use the other. And I'll typically use one for   "activities" and the other for general browsing.

I use chrome. Everything abotu Chrome works perfectly fine for me. Except their own stupid search engine.

Instead of moaning about it you have two really easy options:

1) Install a different browser.

2) Buy more RAM, it's pretty fucking cheap.

Running with 16gb of ram, chrome is committing 15-16gb crashing constantly with "he's dead jim" not sure why this has become a problem all of a sudden. Reinstalled it to see if it fixes it, otherwise I'll need to use mozilla.

They don't trade blows, trust me. They are both terrible fucking bloated browsers that are just carcasses of how great they used to be. Especially firefox. 

Using Firefox 4 on my ULR (dual Pentium 3) and then updating to the latest showed me that. Same as earlier versions of Chrome and IE 6 (I swear IE6 is the best web browser I have ever used-its just a shame that it was 1 window at a time instead of tabbed).

Tried it, had a few issues, mainly because I had to take the time to change the keyboard shortcuts from things such as "M", "V" and so on-its bloody annoying when your tying and the browser activates one of its shortcuts. Now I'm staying with Chrome as my desktop has no problems with any web browser.

No. How and why would they ever fix their issues if no-one ever complained about them? There needs to be discussion on every single issue in the world, not just voting on wallets. The devs aren't mind readers.

 

Switching browsers usually just leads to some other issue or lack of functionality anyway. You do realize, people switched to Chrome from other browsers too?

 

And a lot of computers, especially the ones that are used for almost solely for browsing, simply don't have the option of "buy more ram" NUCs, laptops and m-ITXs don't come with an endless supply of DIMM slots. And for the rest of them, getting more ram will only lead to chrome using more ram.

I use Chrome now since it got released, cause at the time it was the only browser that didn't look like it came with Windows XP. It looked modern and worked great. And it still does for me.

I don't have any problems at all with Chrome. Maybe thats simply because I don't "use" 1337 tabs at the same time.

I also tried Edge a little yesterday, just to see if it is as good as people say. It recommended me to use the Internet Explorer at one point, because it couldn't display a site. So no, definitly not a browser for me. Also it feels slow compared to Chrome.

What's wrong with chrome. I mean, I never had so much loss in that my PC became really slow.
