windows 10 is quite a bit lighter and easier on the system.  I've noticed a lot of people saying they get up to 10% increases in gaming performance, as well as a boost in general system responsiveness.  I've noticed only a 2-3% performance increase in a handful of games.

I believe maxwell will support DX12 so that should help you out aswell.

No improvement or reduction of performance vs Windows 8.1 in games.

Windows 10 seems more snappy over Windows 8.1 for me but I have been runing 8.1 for quite some time and I just did fresh install yesterday so that may be reason why it feels more snappy.

OP you should have no problem with DX12 if you have a 700 series

Pretty sure improvements will still come to 11_0 and 11_1 levels but not support the same features as 12_0 and 12_1

What does feature level support mean, exactly?

Each level supports different "new" features of DX12.  11_0 and 11_1 are kinda like "legacy" versions, which support all the default features of DX12 and the improvements they bring, but does not support the newer features that 12_0 and 12_1 will bring.

I believe that the difference in 12_0 and 12_1 is marginal but I don't know a great deal about the subject so take that with a grain of salt

So that means that GTX700s would get the improved performance, but not the new blah, blah, and blah, basically?

fermi will have delayed support for DX12, so says nvidia.  It'll be a month or so but it's supposedly coming.
