Should I use the 7zip beta?

It's the only version that has been updated in about 5 years.

Or don't use it at all, and get the lighter weight and more supported WinRAR

 

The stable version is going to break less often, but sees a lot less support.

Why? You just have to pay for it in the end. 7zip is better at compression, anyways.

I have used winrar, but 7zip seems faster.

I am probably the only person in the world who has had payed winrar not pirated.

Ah, but a vastly inferior program that only has limited support and functionality!

 

Really, it's down to preference. I bought the damn thing out of convenience and don't regret it.

Same here I don't use 7zip that much anyway. I don't deal with zips a lot.
