the only problem i ever had with my r9 280 is that it looked grainy however i used a computer with an apu which would glitch out if chunks were just to much to handle i would reccomend lowering chunks depending on gpu

.......why do you need 200 fps mate? 

 

and thats more of a CPU question. my dads gt9800 can get 300 fps in minecraft(used to, havent played on it in like 2 years)

you should be able too as long as your cpu is an i5 as really the cpu is the main factor for minecraft

yeah, definitely. i hit 1200 depending on the world.

but your cpu is gonna matter more

I wanted 200 fps because I was also thinking of getting the Gtx 960 which gets aroun 200 fps at least

The R9 380 is fine,

just as any gpu is.

 

Minecraft is more cpu dependant

I don't think there ever was. I have used AMD GPUs nearly all my life gaming on a computer (~5 years) and I've never had a problem.

Minecraft is CPU intensive.

GPU just kind of helps render.

I have a Pentium G3220 and a GT 730 and with fps set to unlimited, I get well over 300fps, but I locked it to 120 fps with a 64x texture pack.
