1866 dram timing

Go to solution Solved by Levent,

Do you feel any difference being at 1600 9-9-9-24 and the clock you have right now? ..being games and video edit.

i can say windows feels snappier at 1866 mhz because my desktop loads faster (using lots of background apps and services) specially rainmeter launches faster ,in games no,rendering no,benchmarking yes

1600 MHZ 9-9-9-24-1T 1.5v

1866 MHZ 9-10-10-26-1T 1.5v

2000 MHZ 9-11-11-28-2T 1.56v

i run them with 9-10-10-26 2T 1866 with 1.55v on my z77-ds3h i couldnt get them run at 99924-1t at that speed even with 1.65v

you have to play with the timing yourself.

Hi,

..I have an i5 3570k on a z77a g45 with ddr3 corsair vengeance PC3-10700H (667MHz)9-9-9-24 2T 1600. Is there any possible way to OC this ram up to 1866 and be stable with my rig?

OC ram is really not recommended and you wont even get a performance increase, IF it was stable.

But if you really tryhard, oc it to 1866, loosen the timings a bit maybe add some voltage and you should get about half a FPS more, IF it was stable :D

Personal Build Project "Rained-On"

helped building up the CPU Overclocking Database and GPU Overclocking Database, check them out ;)

..pls tell me why is not recommended to OC the rams on a rig? ..and how is that even possible not to get any performance increase?! o.o

overclocking ram is loads of fun. highly suggested.

You should start with loosening timings, raising voltage, increasing the frequency and after that you can adjust the bclk for that extra couple MHz.

Take your time and do it if you want to. there's no real guide, just have to find out what your kit can do.

you dont get benefit from already fast ram bandwidth in games but when you are doing stuff that relies on ram (such as video rendering 3d rendering) it will give you small performance increase over 1600mhz only way you will notice the difference would be 1600mhz to 2800mhz

Shouldn't the latency of the ram increase due to the looser timings? The latency goes from 54ns on 1600MHz down to 48ns on 2000MHz. Why is this or is this a different latency?
