Is a 3770k enough?

Is a 3770k @4.5Ghz with hyperthreading on enough for livestreaming games while simultaneously recording it, much like Linus and Luke do with the WAN Show? Or should I go with a 6 core 5820k?

if you have the budget go for the better one but i think the 3770k will do the job

I'd suggest going for a newer chipset if you can. But if you already have the cpu then it is certainly doable.

More than enough. You won't benefit from the 5820K if that's all you're planning to do

I also plan on doing a lot of Premiere Pro and Audition work along with venturing into some after effects sooner or later... Are you sure it will be goo enough? Or will my GTX 780 pick up the slack with CUDA?

Finding z77 boards is becoming more and more difficult

There's really no benefit in the games I play, from what I can tell from benchmarks for the new DDR4 RAM (which is basically all that is offered with the new chipsets coming in the fall).

I'm still surprised that I was able to find an MSI Z77 Mpower that I've bought a week ago

 it wasn't the benefits in gaming I was referring to. Finding a replacement motherboard if the one you got breaks somehow is a bit more difficult than finding a newer chipset board.

when my p8z77-v pro board broke all i could find was an asrock Z77 pro4

but in the end I can't really complain^^

Genuinely jealous right now. An Mpower board would definitely look better than the ugly but functional asrock pro4 i have now. A slim motherboard that is noticeably brown in a blue themed build
