Hi so, what do you guys think?

Should I get 2 NF-A14 industrialPPC 3000 PWM fans, or stick with the stock NF-A15 fans on the NH D15 and dye them.

I think you may actually have a tiny performance decrease if you get NF-A14s and run them at the same speeds as the stock fans. And honestly, spending 50 bucks on noctua fans when you already got excelent ones that were designed for your heatsink doesn't make much sense. Not sure how to paint them but there must be guides online. If it's only a matter of aesthetics phanteks and thermalright have fans that are extremely similar to the NF-A15s on different colors. Anyhow, i would stick with the NF-A15s, it simply doesn't get much better than that in performance and acoustics for heatsinks fans

Oh yeah xD, I watched that video. But they look exactly the same as the industrialPPC (I think they might be the same thing) plus they havn't talked about any A14's so, yeah.

If I recall correctly, LTT fans should just be black versions of the regular fans and not be the same as iPPC fans.

Ok so first of all, yeah you will get a performance decrese no doubt. Second, dye the fans, I did some research, I might just do that, its cheaper then buying new fans and they will perform better.

Wait for Linustechtips Noctua fans

Linus said they were going to be really expensive, like $35 a fan or something crazy like that!

Where was that mentioned? I faintly remember that it is said to be a bit cheaper than iPPC's.

If I remember correctly, the topic of fan painting has been slightly discussed previously.

Fans are generally engineered to precise specs in what regards the blade size and weight. Adding even a layer of extra material will decrease its performance due to increasing the overall weight of the blades and their width. I am unsure how much of a performance hit this is. They will have to spin faster to maintain the same airflow and their aerodynamics will suffer if the paint layer(s) are uneven.

By painting your fans you essentially shorten their lifespan and reduce their performance while (presumably) increasing their noise

Im not entirely sure which topic, it was a month or so back. He said he was supposed to get something like 5-7$ of the profit per fan so and that he expected them to increase price so it didn't hurt their margins.

I think the name of the thread was 'who's buying ltt edition fans" or something. Its been multiple weeks since I saw it, so i could be wrong.
