Why is BestBuy doing this? Is it to get rid of old inventory or for other reasons I don't know of? All I know is that people probably actually buy this is the sad thing

Because someone will see a long number next to the name and think, oh, this must work fine, has to be better than this geforce 620. I'll buy it!

And then they lose, and bestbuy wins. Don't let bestbuy win, fight the system. Go out and buy a half dozen geforce 620s and then throw them from the rooftops while proclaiming your dominance over all businesses.

To put that in perspective.

532MHZ 64 bit DDR2 Vram = 8.5GB/s Which is not that much slower than the last 512MB on the 970.

Holy shit i think i solved it, Nvidia fucked up when making the 970 and took 7 chips of high quality GDDR5 Vram and 1 chip from the museum. Noone checked and they ended up making tens of thousands of ancient memory chips :D

On a more serious note, the PCI interface has fallen out of use. For some people, it may be a godsend that they can find one unused and in original packaging.

Motherboard: Asus X570-E
CPU: 3900x 4.3GHZ

Memory: G.skill Trident GTZR 3200mhz cl14

GPU: AMD RX 570

SSD1: Corsair MP510 1TB

SSD2: Samsung MX500 500GB

PSU: Corsair AX860i Platinum

Read the user reviews. The people buying this are using it for Linux systems, ports that their computer otherwise doesn't have, because they only have PCI slots on their motherboard and need a tad more horsepower than on-board, and because it's enough if they wanted to use their computer for multimedia and not games.
