Terraira limiting FPS at 60 when I have 144 hz monitor

Any solutions? BTW my GPU is a GTX 970 so it should run at over 60, right?

dude, a HD integred graphic can run terraria over the 60FPS, thats maybe something in the code that limit the frame at 60

Turn off Vsync if it's enabled, also make sure your monitor is actually running at 144Hz.

Some games have fps locks where you cannot go over that unless changing configurations in .ini files or external tools, etc. I don't know if that game is like that. but it seems so cause yes with a 970 you should get MUCH more than 60fps..

You have to enable disable frameskip for it to run higher than 60fps. It will interpolate most things, except clouds... Clouds move really fast :P

Edit2: It'll have a very small amount of glitches, like the text at your cursor (gravestones, signs, named chests) will flicker. I experienced horrible flickering in Windows 10 but that may vary for you.

i know this is a very old topic but i'm gonna leave a reply to help others who stumble onto this. In Terraria, if you disable frame-skip, the game should run at the refresh rate of your screen. It may speed up the physics of the game though.
