Mouse and Keyboard user learning Gamepad- how long to feel natural?

whitedragon101

I have always use mouse and keyboard but it seems many of the new VR titles next year will use an xBox one controller.  So I am trying assassins creed 2 using an xBox one controller.  I am 5 hours in and I can use it but it still feels distant and vague.

Has anyone else done this?  How long did it take for the controller to feel natural and just start playing the game rather than struggling to aim and control it?

This is why I'm never going to use a controller...

I like mice and keyboards and the sort

it may take some time, but once you get used to it it's ok.

Fine aiming i think will never really get "good", just "acceptable". apart from that, i think it took me like a week to get used to the controller when i first picked it up in my life a few years back.
