I haven't purchased any parts yet this is just planning ahead. This is my first build and I plan on making improvements in the future.(ram, gpu, cooling, etc.)

Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (considering ssd)

Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2GB Video Card

Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case

SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

This totals around $650 and I was thinking of using my extra budget space for a ssd going a little over budget is ok. Any and all suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you.

I think it would be best to go a bit over budget and get an SSD

And what will you do with this planned build assuming you buy it?

Yeah its a nice one, i like the upgrade path he has

I don't really see the point. 520 should be enough for any foreseeable upgrades.

I second this.

260x isnt very good for playing the newest titles on high/ultra settings with a decent fps. With your budget you could get a much better gpu. Mabye a r9 280 or r9 380. Or even the 270, which isnt that much more money

Since he hasnt specified what games he will be playing, the 260x will do

But Skix you have a point, he could have gotten a better GPU, but he said he want to upgrade later in the future

Unnecessary.

Getting a cheaper GPU now means he has money to spend on other hardware, like an SSD.

You don't have to recommend it or endorse it. Doesn't really need to be discussed, though.

Which is why I would like the OP to answer my question. I'm not looking to debate if pirating software is okay or not, I'm just trying to help the OP with a good build.

Since your cpu isn't overclockable, I wouldn't bother with the aftermarket cooler. You could save that for when/if you upgrade it later. Maybe take the extra bit of cash and get an R9 270, 370, or better depending on what you can find discounted. You should definitely try to find the space in the budget for the ssd though. Luckily, they get cheaper every day. Otherwise, pretty solid part choices.

If he wants he can download a genuine copy of windows 10 here: https://insider.windows.com/

If I am not mistaken he can hold the os, as long as he is logged in with his microsoft account on the os

I was under the assumption that the insider copies would be deactivated once the Win10 release.
