Hello,

I have kind of an issue, that I have no option for fxaa in my BF4 (o_O). I have r9 280 and only option I have to chose in BF4 is MSAA. Why?

In WoW I use fxaa with no prob.

Because that is the method of Anti Aliasing Dice chose to use for its engine?

I am just confused, cuz I've seen how people used fxaa in their grap. settings on youtube and I just have none (the only reason I am worried about is cuz AA explanation says that Msaa uses much more resourses than fxaa, even considering that msaa is a bit better looking).

what setting do you have BF4 on? For example i have mine on high but the resolution scale up to 170% which elminates the need for AA, and at anything below high/ulra it might not be an option for FXAA

The "Anti Aliasing Post" is a form of fast anti aliasing. It's FXAA

^ This.

Also, FXAA looks really bad, just use MSAA.

BF4's in-game menu offers two forms of AA: Antialiasing Deferred, which is traditional MSAA or something similar and Antialiasing Post, which is post-processing AA. Are you saying Antialiasing Post is missing? There is no in-game option for "FXAA," at least not by that name.

hmmm, strange. I bet I saw fxaa option on youtube in bf4... maybe something changed.

I run everything ultra with hbao/ssao disabled, 2x msaa, low AA post, 100% resolution. Vsync On

I also have one problem that my game randomly gives micro stuttering (like huge fps drops for 1-3 secs). GPU is not overclocked (stock 960/1250) and temps around 70 (if I increase fan speed to 80 then tempa go down to almost 60).

cpu 860k is at 4.2 ghz with default voltage. Apu/pcie frequncy on auto.

Should I add something or reduce? Cuz game does smooth almost stable around 60 fps, really great, but when mucrostuttering comes... ewww...

Performance like that sounds like the result of a GPU that's good enough with a CPU that's struggling a bit. The Athlon X4 860K is pretty low-end, and BF4 can be pretty demanding of the CPU. I doubt any settings would affect it. Try playing with the Low preset for a bit and see if it still stutters.

FXAA is a type of post-processing AA, so Antialiasing Post is probably something similar. Though due to DICE's association with AMD for BF4, I'd expect it to be SMAA or something proprietary. FXAA is a Nvidia technique, I think.

that makes sense, cuz when I turned cpu up to 4,w from 4,0 stuttering reduced a little. I will try to bump it to 4,5 and add voltage to 1,368 and see how it does.

860k is a low end, I admit, but considering bf4 is the only demanding game I play it is worth it.

Ok I tried to increase my cpu up to 4,5 ghz, but then my pc just didnt start at all. It took me like 5 restarts to get into bios again. Reduced to 4,3, but then some time later blue screen arrived. Rudeced to 4,2 (normally I used that) again and my BF4 started to lag as hell after like 2 minutes of gaming... Reistalled drivers for my gpu completely, slowed down cpu to 4,1 and works fine (micro stuttering still accures).

I want to try and make my cpu stable at least at 4,3 ghz, but it seems that I probably need to add voltage I suggest? NorthBridge is at stock 1800hz and cpu voltage is stock 1,3125 or somethig like that.

Wtf did you try overclocking without changing voltage?! GG, never leave it on auto btw when overclocking.
