If you're going to use Sake I would advise adding a little sugar too it 1st (Maybe warm it then mix in the sugar), just because Mirin is a decent bit sweeter, it should work though, both are rice wines

At first i thought you meant a substitute for the term "mirin" as in admiring LOL

What sugar:sake ratio?

 

Well if it were me I'd just guess it by eye and pray it turns out right aha

 

But just looked it up, and a few places suggest for every 1 tablespoon of mirin, combine 1 tablespoon of sake and 2 teaspoons of sugar.
