First Plan For A Rig

Go to solution Solved by veech,

23" in my preferred size but that's up to you.

Go for the Kraken x60... It's quieter.

Why'd you change to a more expensive and unlisted bluray player? The one I chose would do the same job for less than half the price.

Why not just stick with my original build? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1mlR1

Alright. Your build still works for me. Lol.

I guess I'm done planning out my rig! Thank you everyone!

i dont think the evo is a great choice if you are overclocking

Will the 212 evo be okay even if I want to overclocked my CPU and GPU? I really want to do watercooling but if it's too much for my budget than I can wait on that.

You can get up to a 4.5 ghz OC on the Evo depending in your chip.

Yes I will want to run SLI on 3 monitors in the future.

Will the liquid cooler h100i cool better than the noctua when overclocking though? I also prefer liquid cooling but I don't want to fry my CPU :(

Have 3 displays and game on one or game across 3 displays?

Don't worry I wouldn't worry about frying your cpu.

Does the 770 overclock better than the 7970?

No, the 7970 overclocks better.

This is my updated build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lTFo

What can I fix from here?

Great build! everything seems good now. BTW, have you built a pc before?

I haven't build a pc by myself before. So this will be my first time building one by myself.

Here you go OP: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/39477-pc-budget-solutions-gaming-pc-planning-guide-ver-ii/

Thank you for the awesome guide. I will definitely take some time to read from time to time.

Sli ready.

I want to play games on all three monitors in the future but I'm just going to focus on one for now.

I like the new build there but I'm a little bit fuzzy about the AMD CPU. I am quite a fan of Intel CPU but if the AMD process as well as the Intel, then I'll stick with the AMD.

The 8350 won't bottleneck your gpu and has extra cores for upcoming games. Core for core, it's not as powerful as Intel, but it plenty power for each core in gaming. It's not that far off from the 4770k if you can overclock it to 5 ghz.

Another question is will I be able to render/edit game footages on the AMD 8350? If not, then I might just stick with the i5 4670k.

The 8350 would actually be better than the 4670k than that due to the extra cores.

Alright. I'm thinking about going back to air cooling for now. Lol! I guess I can run water cooling when I upgrade my rig for SLI. Do you think I should go with the Noctua DH14 for the quiet cooling?

I have it and it's quiet. Go for it if you want to.

And does anyone have any critique on this monitor or may have any suggestion on another monitor?
