My friend just got a R9 280x Gigabyte windforce, and has 3 monitors a 1080p, 1600x900, and a 1280x1024 display. When you try to enable all of them, it give the error of "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings." 2 are on the display ports, and 1 is on the DVI port. Any help?

miss matched monitors are always a pain to get setup.. even 3 identical monitor sometimes have issues.

my advice.. sell all 3 and get 1 decent monitor.. problem solved.

Try to change 1 DP monitor to HDMI, might solve the problem.

The gpu supports op to 3 monitors, and there are 4 ports, so 1 port is internally connected to 2 outputs of the gpu, so that explains why you can't save it.

It's stupid, but that's how it is... It's a sort of unwritten rule sadly.

You can try to connect 1 monitor to the iGPU if that's an option.

Is the dvi one not working ? Are you doing this with eyefinity or windows? Did you try lowering resolution, unpluging power and repluging?

I will send him a link to a HDMI to DVI cable.

Any 2 work together, all 3 though do not.

Did you try to take out the power plug and replug it while configuring? Set the monitors to lower res?
