Is zotac any good?

10ochamberlain1

A friend of mine said they have a lot of quality control issues meaning a lot of their cards break pretty fast. Is this true as i'm in the market for a 980ti pretty soon and i'm interested in their AMP Extreme as it looks so awesome but i don't want to have an unexpected RMA process.

So, is Zotac a reliable brand that i should consider buying my 980ti from?

Current Rig

I had a Zotac GTX560 but it died after 6 months I mean it would still display the desktop but any stress put on it and it would just crash they may have improved now though, I know Gigabyte and MSI cards are good though

Custom PC:

Intel Core i7 5960X GTX1080 Strix | 64gb 2400mhz DDR4 Corsair Vengeance Ram | Samsung S951 256gb M.2 | 4TB WD Blue SSHD | EVGA Supernova G2 1300watt PSU | Acer XB270HU | Corsair K95 RGB | Corsair M65 RGB |

Zotac is a great brand. Not famous, of course, but their cards are definitely some of the best

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

I own the amp! extreme.

I dont think MSI´s or EVGA´s ect. RMA is better or worse, but this Card has a 5 Year warranty.

However this Card looks absolutly great and my example boost (without OC!) to 1418mhz@67°. That´s badass.

is the amp extreme worth the extra price premium?

Its quiet, cool and super fast.

My example boost to 1418mhz (without OC) and reached a maximum temp. of 72° in a stress test.

Every custom 980Ti is killer, no doubt about it, but you have to OC them to reach the amp! extreme´s factory boost power.

I love it.

So yes it is.
