Have you tried to record with AMD's equivalent of shadow play as that would probably give less of a performance impact than using OBS.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

What is this? Link to it please. I would enjoy that. Is it Raptr's recording/streaming thing? Because that's not necessarily AMD's. I think it'd work with Nvidia too.

@lovingGamer OBS is awesome for recording. I use it a lot.

Yes, OBS is one of (if not) the best recording softwares out there. I wonder if your i3 will be able to handle it without stutters though.

since OBS is open software, if you have an AMD GPU you can use the VCE encoding (uses the GPU to encode instead of the CPU). the quality / bitrate is lower than if you used x264 (CPU) but it's still worth a shot if you are lagging with that processor.

someone made an OBS fork / branch that supports VCE, here's the link for ya. I've used it back when I had an AMD GPU and it was great (better quality per bitrate than shadowplay).

It's shit sometimes and throws out errors because it feels like it but most the time it's good.

have you installed MS VC++ 2013 runtimes?

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

I'm guessing most people can't get it to work because they didn't download this.

If you got it to work, what settings (bitrate, fps, downscale res, etc) are you using? what game are you trying to stream?

a FPS game where you look around a lot will require a higher bitrate because there are more pixels to update.
