Rig in sig!

What would you guys upgrade in my build (inclusive of peripherals/ monitors or whatever)?

Is the 4770 considered a strong CPU? :o (AFAIK it's the 2nd most powerful locked CPU i can get on my platform)

How does the 290x stand in the current GPU market? :o

4770 is the third most powerull do you mean the K version which is still powerful however the 4790k is not much more and is cooler and more efficent. the 290x is pretty bad now to be honest as it is old and Runs extremely hot however its performace is Solid compared to a 980 it should be ok for modern games and is a bargain. the 390x isnt much more thow if you could get that but to be honest a 970/980/980ti is so much better

Hmmm but is the upgrade worth it? :o How much of a performance jump am i gonna get? :o

And what performance jump percentage would you guys wait till you all upgrade your GPU?

290x is a waste of money get a 980 ot 980ti if you got the funs otherwise try a gtx 970.

It is? :o I think my 290x has served me pretty well the past 9 months i had it :D

But my card tops out at 77c max load with an ambient of 33c.... Is that very hot? :o

I agree with Skyward, there's no real need to upgrade anything for the moment.

I'd say that you don't need to upgrade anything atm.

Im probably gonna wait when 4k becomes the norm before upgrading... Would my CPU/mobo combination be strong enough then? :o Like all i have to do is swap a gpu out right? :D

If your gaming on 1080p then I'll save up, the r9 290x still holds. And your CPU is still fine even not overclocked.

It should be, till this day even the 2500k is still able to not bottleneck high end cards like a 980ti, so you should be fine.

The k series is for overclocking if you are not planning to do so than your cpu is fine for another 3 to 6 years.i don't even overclock my 4790k never seen the need to.

There is no point in going to a 980 from a 290x, it's a sidegrade, which means its a waste of money.

Yeah I was just taking the piss aye... I wouldn't bother go from a 290X to a 980, and especially not a 970 as they are on the same level FPS wise.

Ahh you probably will save 4 dollars a year or something. The 980 is a great card now but at 1080p it not that noticeable of a upgrade, might as well save up for a 1440p monitor and a better graphic card in the future.

ad post hoc fallacy, just because it happen after something doesn't mean it happened because of it. Something else was causing the bill, a graphic card can't do that much f difference!
