Drivers are fine as long as there are no leftover drivers from the previous GPU. Just make sure to remove any trace of them and you will be fine

But yeah, 390X is about 20-25% faster (like the 980) than the 970 and has more than double the VRAM for future titles and potential multi-monitor setups.

Especially them fucked up drivers....

Personally I had faced more problems with NVidia drivers (crashing to desktop) than AMD drivers.

 

But yes their drivers do put their cards behind in some current games
