Right now even with a Corsair H80i GT at idle I am getting 36 degrees F but should I not be getting lower temps? Is it the fact that different typs of fans would be better or is it the placement of the radiatior? I want lower temps but do not know where to start. Here is a picture of my current build.

What are your room temps?

It's physically impossible to go below room temps using conventional cooling techniques (excludes peltier, LN2, and phase change)...

36 degrees F is close to 0C and I highly doubt your room temperature is below freezing

What it's not going to go lower than your room temp at 36F that's 2C which isn't possible. If it's 36C that's not too bad.

36 degrees Fahrenheit? Unless if its freaking freezing in your house, that's not possible. I notice that you are using an AMD chip, which are known for giving false/low numbers, so you might wan to find another way of monitoring temps. I can tell you hat your set up is fine though, a single 120mm RAD is enough to keep those chips cool.

usually your idle temp will be 6-8° warmer than your room temp.

and your 36° is C not F.

for cooler than what you have now is not available without sub-ambient

means (LN2, peltier, and phase change - as mentioned earlier).

My room temps range from 70-85 degrees F. In all honesty my cpu thrautles at 55 degrees F and goes up too 50 degrees F while gaming. This is with my fans at full all the time.

It's not trust me. About 70-85 degrees F.

It is possible. Just VERY unlikely, unless this guy lives in a freezer...

Are you crazy? :D 36°F = 2°C - impossible for a PC

I guess it is a typo, 36°C at idle is perfectly normal, you should post under load temperatures

About 50 degrees C is when it is under load. Sorry I keep forgetting it is in C while I am american and use F.

I am using the asus thermal radar of the sabertooth motherboard 2.0 if I am not mistaken.

I do not really know what I am talking about so this is why I am coming to ya'll.

What's CPU are you using? It's a little weird for a CPU to throttle at 55 degrees. I have an i7-4790k that can go in the mid sixties and will be perfectly fine

Edit: The problem could also extend to the cooler not being seated properly, incorrectly applying thermal paste etc. but your temps seem fine.

AMD Fx 8370 8 cour proccessor

50°C under load is perfectly fine, my 4790K goes to 64°C, totally safe temperatures

So I should not be worring about anything right now? As in for temps of my cpu.

If its 50c under load then thats pretty good. If you get a bigger cooler, it would only help a couple degrees, so it wouldn't be worth it IMO.

Your doing good at 36C idle and about 50C during load with that processor nothing to complain about.

Thanks, like I said I do not know what is a good temp to be at with this cpu in my set up. Thanks for letting me know though!

Not at all. How do you know that it's throttling?

I know that I am throttling because I have no reason to lag in certain situations and i look over to see my temps and it will be at 55 or 56 C (this was before my h80i gt) and a p[rogram I have showing that my cpu indeed is throughtling.

No worries at all :)

Thanks!

That's interesting. What program? I have no idea why it is throttling. There shouldn't be any reason for that. What situations does it lag?

36 degrees F is 2.2 degrees C

your said 36F in your first post

also its not possible top have CPU temps lower than your room temp without phase change cooling

so you must have an AMD CPU right? because they give wrong temp info very commonly

you should not believe whatever it tells you because the temp determining algorithm is wrong
