you might have bumped the CMOS clear pin. try looking for it. if that doesnt work, take the new battery back out and hold the power button (with the PSU unplugged) for 15 seconds. try booting it up WITHOUT a battery.

Only power supply led. No speaker to check for error codes. Pulled out each ram at a time, changed psu, removed drives. Nothing. It has not happened to me again but I can' t explain it. Corrupted bios due to static shock????

How to do that? It is shuttle fn41. It doesn' t seem to have speaker pins.

FN41? As in the Athlon XP FN41?

jeez it worked that low? sheesh. I would try removing everything from the board (CPU, RAM, battery) and try to  discharge every capacitor on the board, and short out the terminals where the battery goes, and then try it again.

Yes

Wow. Color me impressed one of those is still around.

Anyways. My A7N8X did this to me not long ago, playing possum and such. I ended up benching it and let it have a tantrum. I recently reassembled it on my test bench and voila, works fine now.

I think you just pissed her off. Try doing a bare build and see if she'll post then and change your video card out or use the nForce onboard.

Maybe the board shorted out off the case... Mine was doing that the other day because the air cooler warped the board into the back of the case. It was throwing up a weird usb3_13 boot led, but apparently that wasn't the issue. lol

Tried again today. Disassembled, discharged but unfortunately nothing changed.

So when you press the power button do the fans come on and it just displays nothing? No hard drive activity or anything?

Fans are spinning but displays nothing. HDD led constantly on. When I unplug power from dvd HDD led is off but it displays nothing again. I have tried both onboard vga and agp gpu.
