Corsair CX750M vs CM Silent Pro M2?

Trail Mixorz

The Corsair is 750W and $89.99 on Newegg, and the Cooler Master is 720W and $124.99. They are both 80 Plus Bronze Certified. I will be running a 4770k machine with a gtx 780. I'm wondering which is better, and why the CM psu is so much more expensive.

I'd go corsair cause you're saving money and corsair PSU's are some of the best on the market. Also corsairs sleeved cables are really nice if you decide to buy those lol.

4770K with 780? Please get a better psu than a CX series , i don't know what CM PSU it is but this PSU is a great one for your config and it isn't too expensive either :

Both psus are overkill.

A cx600 will do.

Answer: buy a better tier PSU.

The Corsair TX series are only just slightly more expensive but have MUCH better build quailty then the CX.

I would consider the Corsair PSU because CM has a bad reputation for psu's

CPU: Intel core i5 4670k @ 4.4ghz  CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9B SE2 GPU: GTX 660 Motherboard: MSI Z87M-Gaming RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 2x4gb Black @1.6ghz Power supply: Corsair HX650 80 plus gold Storage: Adata 64GB SSD + Seagate Barracuda 1TB Case: Corsair Obsidian 350d

Are you planning to SLI? The Cooler Master one you are looking at isn't a bad unit, but it is not well priced. In the price range you are looking at, I would recommend the Rosewill Capstone 750-M over it. http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-CAPSTONE-Series-Certified-CAPSTONE-750-M/dp/B0081XXIRA

There's also the Cooler Master V700 which would be a better deal than that CM as well. It's $110.50 after promo or $80.50 after MIR.

The Corsair CX750M is a CWT PUQ-B unit, so it should be a solid unit as well (better than the DSA-II units that the CX430~600w is based off of); however, since the CX line is more a budget, lower-end line from Corsair, there's a bit cost down in comparison to the other iteration of this platform, such as it uses lower quality capacitors that is rated at a lower operating temperature and a cheaper sleeve bearing fan. Since you have the budget, I would recommend looking at something else, TBH.

If you only going to used one card, I want recommend the Rosewill Capstone 550-M or Seasonic G SSR-550RM.

I would get a XFX Core 750W or a Corsair TX650 V2 since these will probably last longer and will be more reliable.

cx psus are good for people who have a tight budget, it would run a 3770k with a 780 fine but voltage regulation isnt the best, look into the tx750m .
