Different memory classes !?

Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

The CLXX refers to the CAS latency. Technically, the lower the latency, the "faster" it is (technically also not faster, just the latency). However, there will be no noticeable difference in performance.

Just either go for the cheapest, or the one you like the look of most.

EDIT: Also, is this for a new build? Because it won't work with your current board/cpu.

Hello,

I've been looking at ddr4 but I dont know what difference it makes when i get this RAM:

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR4-2400 CL16

or this RAM:

Corsair Vengeance LPX Red 8GB DDR4-2400 CL14

They are both the same speed but they differ in class. So my questions are:

Which will be faster and does it even matter which class the memory is?

The Class 14 memory is more expensive but does that mean the lower the class, the better the RAM?

Thanks in advance,

CL are timings, the lower the timings the better.

So CL14 is better than CL16.

edit: it doesn't matter btw, just get the cheapest.

Honestly with the cheapest DDR4 still being 2133mhz just get whatever is cheapest and looks nice.
