House with a pool doesn't make a watercooled house.  All the water does is reduce the amount of sunlight being absorbed into the walls.  Would have been easier to just use mirrors.  The house would still be as hot as the ambient temperature without any type of AC, but it would reduce the amount of AC necessary to cool the house.

due to evaporated cooling from the pool, this would cool the house.

Interesting.

Geo-thermal cooling is a much better solution though, imho

Ya, I've put in plenty of lines going to a pond for geothermal. works great.

I was thinking of making a custom loop, but instead of a reservoir or radiator, running a line to the nearby lake and getting a beefy pump. Mind you, at that point I'm better off tapping in to the main water line in our house and building a system that drains refills the loop with cool water every 15 minutes or so.

that sounds like a good way of clogging lines or causing corrosion. be better off running a buried line (about 3 feet down, in case of freezing) to the lake and using a heat-exchanger.
