Pre-Build Function Testing

Go to solution Solved by Appelzaadje,

from what i have leanrt the mobo alwase has a tiny bit of memory on board and you should be able to get into the bios

As far as i know a Mobo wont post without memory so :S

I would test a mobo with CPU and ram to atleast check if it posts then build the thing.

After that i would install windows stress test etc.

As far as im concernd and in most repairs ive seen its rarely the CPU that dies maybe 1 / 1000 cases.

Hey guys, I was planning getting hardware components individually to get the most value. Because of this I won't have a lot of components (Case, OS, and Memory), when my CPU/Motherboard combo gets to me. My question is; will loading up the bios verify that the CPU is working correctly/ not damaged?

I would prefer to know this before the 30 day replacement guarantee which is why I am asking.

you d need to do 24 h stress testing to call it stable and safe, which you can only do in the os, so no

That is what I was thinking, would a simple boot mean that the CPU/Mobo is functioning? also how often do CPU's boot well but not function properly in a setup?

Basically, once you know a cpu works, it's highly, highly unlikely it will malfunction.

you barely ever get any defective hardware unless YOU mess something up, leave it in the box and dont mess with anything if you just have a cpu and mobo.
