4790K if you need the extra processing power, i.e if you render a lot of videos or do a lot of editing. If you just game the 4690k is fine. The 980 is a great card if you plan on gaming on a single 1080p screen.  If you plan on using more than one screen later, get the 980 ti.

The H100i is pretty overpriced and noisy,

I would go for a good air cooler or a better water cooler.

Also, if you plan on 1440p I would consider the R9 390 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9390gaming8g

And IMO you're paying too much for windows, but all the places on reddit and the forums that used to sell it for cheap seem to be gone.

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

i would get an i7 (4790k) and get a mass storage drive like a segate barracuda of a western digital caviar blue (at least 1 tb)

You should stick with the 970 its awsome for heavy 1080p light 1440p gaming :D

980 is the worst Price=Performance card atm.

And you should go with the 4690K just because it runs cooler than the 4790k :D

The Y.E.T.I. is in progress?Whaaat? (modding aproach&build log)->http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/355618-project-yeti-first-build/

Looks good, cept you should be getting a Samsung 850 instead of that Crucial BX100. :P

You could get some different RAM if you want to make it look nicer. IMO that ram looks ugly.

The 980 will give you more FPS than the 970, but it wont bring you up to 144fps, so it's probably not worth it.

4690k is perfect for gaming only. No reason to upgrade.
