encrypted folder on my computer then formatted that computer. how to decrypt?

Basically i encrypted a folder with images/videos in it on my pc. I later upgraded to an ssd so i had to format the hdd to install windows on the ssd. now i can't open any of my media in that folder because it is encrypted.

I do have the encryption key.

and you don't remember the password?

wait. you DO have the key? use it?

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

if it was encrypted using the windows encryption system and you never backed up the relevant keys it's lost unless you have a backup of your old hard drive somewhere.

Images / video   ay?

I wonder what was in there!

There's a good chance you've lost those folders. You should have extracted it before you formatted. You may have the keys but like someone else said, Windows probably held the other key needed.

It's not a race to the bottom.

If you right click the folder, and go to the encrypt settings page do you get options there?
