I already have an SSD and HDD from my old computer. I also don't need an OS or any peripherals.

What do you guys think? I am set on the CPU. I am flexible with the motherboard, and I am still deciding on the graphics card. I want to try to keep it at $500 or less. Could I get some help?

Thanks so much!!

umm if you are getting a non K cpu. dont buy a Z97 board.
so either buy a 4690K for a little more. or get a H97 board. trust me you wont see any differences if you dont get a K series.
Also get DDR3 2400 mhz its not anymore expensive really. Gskill 2400 ram is as cheap as corsair 1600

Also how much is a 960 GTX from your country?

Looks fine, if possible I would try to spend maybe a little bit more on your graphics card. (Maybe a bump to a 270x)

a 270 will max most games fine, but I think a slight bump could be handy, considering I still chug a bit when I play StarCraft 2 (probably due to my garbage processor though)

I would disagree (maybe) as a Z97 board provides a better upgrade path. (But since by the time you would need to upgrade Skylake would be out already, and that I believe may switch platforms, not 100% on that though.

If you can find 2400 MHz ram the same price go for it, but even if it's 10$ more expensive I wouldn't get it.

PCPP indicates US, in which I recommend a R9280X

A GTX 960 is approximately $200 in the USA. Also, I don't need to overclock. I only chose the Z97 board because it was cheapest. I wanted ASUS or Gigabyte. Could you link me to a better/cheaper board if you know of one?

May I ask why you are set at that CPU? (Just curious)

I guess the only reason is because it's currently the cheapest i5 listed on PCPartPicker (lol).

-Also I should mention that I will be gaming on this machine, nothing crazy though.

I think most changes were personal preferences IMO! I don't really want a Micro ATX board because I might need the PCI slots. Also I want more than 2 RAM slots. Secondly, I don't want a cube case, I liked the case I had  :D .
