I've had windows 10 for about a week now and i haven't had any problems with it yet. There was a small glitch with the task bar [it was a line in the middle of the screen] when i changed my monitor's resolution, but it fixed it'self on restart. I installed the preview late last year and almost all of those glitches from the original download are patched. According to some sources, it will be free if you install the trial, but you will have to receive beta updates upon release. The best way to describe it's feel would be windows 7 layout with the styling of 8. I personally never used task view except before i installed the display drivers. [probably because i have 4 monitors]. If you've used windows 7 or 8 before, i would recommend getting this when it comes out. [if you want to get the evaluation for free, look in my signature]

That's great that you liked the Tech Preview version of Win10 for all of 1 week but I think it grossly premature to recommend people get it from win7/8 when it comes out. Most people should indeed hold off for at least 6 months, if not up to that last 11th month until the free upgrade is still valid for all the invariable bugs/patches/and 3rd party driver updates that will need to get sorted out.

I've used Windows 10 on my primary device (and my Windows Phone) since the previews were available back about 5 months ago. I've never run into any issues.

It used to give me some really weird gpu crashes/issues, but it's fixed now

I kinda like it, but I thought Windows 8.1 looked the best and the almost non-existent borders make window resizing a pain.

I'm having some real buggy issues with Windows 10. I have written a post about the issues I'm having and I feel that it's going to turn into another Vista for me at least. It refuses flat out to see my wireless network and with it being so close to release, I'm not sure that bugs like that will be widespread and picked up. It literally is the most bizarre thing I've ever encountered with computing.

What's the boot time? I may replace Ubuntu on my HTPC with win10 but at the moment I'm using a 5400rpm hdd, and the boot time of win7 was awful, if it's improved with this I'll probably change it.

It boots pretty fast my HP laptop with a mechanical 5400RPM drive and with this tweak,

http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-new-metro-boot-loader-and-bring-back-windows-vista-and-7-style-boot-loader-in-windows-8/

I should time it from the moment I press enter to boot it... Well within 10-15 seconds

Yeah how weird that an unreleased operating system has bugs. But really we have no idea what kind of bug fixing they have behind the scenes and they may not even be releasing every single one in every preview. And such a simple thing such as detecting a NIC should be easily patched, no?

I agree that it's not the best idea to recommend EVERY user to upgrade to bleeding edge software.

It sees every other wireless network, but my own. It even sees networks my phone can't. It picks up at least 4 wireless printers, yet it will not see mine.

Lets just say based on my experience with the various w10 preview builds, I wouldn't recommend upgrading on July 29th, wait a few months at least.

"But it's pre-release, you have to expect bugs", sure, but we are just over a month away from retail launch and on current build 10130 the Start Menu has been broken for me, and many others. I had to install Classic Shell as the Start Menu and search bar refused to work... Bug was there after upgrading from previous build, and still there when I installed 10130 clean from ISO.

Then there was one of the other builds, where it broke audio drivers for a lot of people. That was a fun couple of days. My main w7 PC won't be getting upgraded for a while.

I was going to post in this thread yesterday, just before WAN Show went live. Had a blue screen, pretty much sums up my experience with w10.
