Z97 Windows XP

Go to solution Solved by Tedster,

I could try compatibility mode, but it would be nice to run it normally.

Compatibility mode would effectively be running it normally...

Lol why would they have the SATA drivers for Windows XP? That OS is old and has not that much support for it.

This is the question we should be asking.

And you should be able to use any programs you'd need in compatibility mode?

Sig under construction.

I have some old games that won't run on newer versions. Are you sure no one has made any?

No, because it's kind of a silly idea at this point.

Have you tried running them in compatibility mode? Are you sure that they won't work in VirtualBox?

Have you tried running them in WINE on some distro of Linux?

Sig under construction.

It's possible with custom AHCI drivers slipstreamed into XP. This thread has links to what you'll need (you'll need Nlite too) and the drive must be connected to the Intel controller otherwise it will BSOD.

I have an ASUS Z97-PRO motherboard, and I need to install windows XP. There don't appear to be any Windows XP SATA drivers for this board on the ASUS website. Where can I get SATA drivers for this motherboard that support Windows XP?

The OS is so old your going to struggle to find drivers for lots of things.. As said, try compatibility mode, if that fails try an emulator or a virtual machine.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..
