Cracker: Someone who knows his stuff, and bypasses DRM or security systems, uses exploits... .. . (Skidrow, Razor1911.. etc) - also uses weak points, exploits,  for bad reasons
Cracker as noun (at least in Switzerland): "Hey I know you're a crack in MS Office - so could you please help me with: this and that.... "
Hacker: someone who searches for and tries to penetrate systems and tell the weak points etc. for good reasons
Techie: Someone who is very interested in technical way and also knows what he is doing. But not as advanced as a Hacker/Cracker

That is my definition of those "words" :)

I would explain Hacker bit different. Hacker = Person who in interested on how stuff works and wants to build, program or configure hardware and software to their liking.

 

Not long ago a thread was posted on this forum where OP asked about "hacking sites" and "where to learn hacking". I was ashamed how crude welcome he got from such "well educated" crowd as users of LTTF.

You need new friends

It's only free for people running 7 or 8.1 so they would still have to pay to upgrade
