Hello... I have like a gold thermal paste on hand from my brother but since gold has a lower thermal conductivity than silver should i bother using it or just get my own thermal paste?

That depends on the hardware. Is it known for high temps?

@starcoaster silver is slightly better, but it corrodes, so gold is better for some things.

 

 

 

OT: It should be fine. It depends on the exact type that it is, but there shouldn't be a huge problem.

silver paste will be cheaper though, and replacing it every few years isn't a big problem

Well he already has the gold one, so there isn't any harm is using it.

There's gold Thermal Paste ? How did I never heard of this ? O.o

 

Well Gold doesn't corode or oxidize with time so you might be better off using that in the long run ...
