Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Hi.

(Yes, I'm new.)  :D

 

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good mechanical keyboard in the $100-175 range. I prefer Cherry MX Browns, but maybe Reds would be fine too. I just have absolutely no idea what the best one to pick is. Kinda leaning away from Razer, but I might pick one up if you can convince me. Thanks!

Any Corsair K series should be good. Welcome to the forums btw :D

I've heard bad things about the keycaps breaking on those. Thoughts?

Ehh, Im assuming if youre not too rough with it you'll probably be fine, just use it normally and Im sure it will last.

@Darkseiders, the G710+ has no issues with keycaps, only the older G710.

The best reds are usually found in the cheapest keyboards so something from Steelseries or Cooler Master should be fine.

Steelseries 6gv2 can be had with reds for very cheap. It has no bells and whistles, but its built like a tank!

Alright. So..... Been looking at the CM Storms, and I've narrowed it down to the XT or the Ultimate. I just don't see much of a difference.

Whichever is cheaper.

I just got a K70 RGB with Browns, and I love it.

 

You can get the Non RGB for about $120 I believe.

Nobody's recommending the Ducky Shine 4? I think it's a nice keyboard. The one thing I love about it is N-key rollover over USB and no driver software. Just plug-and-play goodness.

Good keyboard, though with reds you can often save yourself some money.

Don't quote me on this, but I heard that the keycaps on the 6gv2 like to fly off during regular use. 

I've never heard of this happening. I've had one for a over a year and know two other people who have also used it long term and this hasn't happened to any of us. Not saying it can't happen, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Both are superb. If you want blues then find them on pull the switch on either. They are some of the top keyboard brands out there.
