Yes headphones do sound better than headsets generally, but with the Senns they almost sound identical, I wouldn't compare any other headset in the world with the Senns because no other headset competes Imo and the only way to beat them is by going the headphone route, but I've seen from a few different sources the hd series sound around the same as the g4me and pc series Eg pc350 and pc360.

I think there about the same except the gaming headset has a bit higher price and it's semi closed, which would help out with the bass, and your paying for the mic glued to it, while the headphones would be open and be less expensive other then that it should be around the same, one has convenience at a higher price and probably a bit more bass while the other would be open and be less expensive.

The g4me one is open and the g4me zero is closed, when my g4me one breaks or gets old I'm going to get some Senns that have a removable cable like the hd598. In the uk the g4me one cost me £20 less that then hd598 would.

Yeah, I was referring to the G4ame Zeros for the gaming headset vs. the HD 598, and that's interesting that they would be less, maybe there close to the HD 558's that would make sense, also if your going to get a new headphone I would suggest the Fidelio x2 or DT 990 Pro's, for a real upgrade, if you already have the Seinhesier's. Might as well get something better/different because if you upgrade to the 598's it'll probably be very similar to what you have.

I bought mine from eBay brand new from someone, on Amazon my headset is generally £30 more than the 598s, heck I'm always willing to upgrade to better cans if they provide a better soundstage aslong as they're less than Around £250.

I'm all about the soundwhoring lol.

Now I'm confused...

Whatever, this audio shit is taking over the peripherals sub-forum.  I'm getting HD 598 with a mod mic, and you better have a good reason to talk me out of it, especially since @Fluffinator recommended it to me.

Still better than the G4ame Zero's if you buy a gaming headset your paying for the convenience, overpaying. All other gaming headset's but the zeros suck though those are the only ones I would call a "good" gaming headset.
