okey guys, so here's my problem, i've just refunded my logitech g930 wireless gaming headset, so now i have 120€(about 136 usd), and now i have to buy a new headset.

i've been looking arround in the internet, and i've just arribed to the conclusion that i should buy the HyperX Cloud II, but, when i looked to LinusTechTips video about the HyperX Cloud (I), i did see a guy who posted about the Takstar HI2050 being also a great choice, and being a little bit cheaper.

so now the thing is, digging arround amazon i realised that with the 136$ i could buy the Takstar(73$), and also a Asus Xonar DGX(35$) + a random modmic (6-10$?)

so the thing is, as i have to spend those 136$, what would you choose?

i know that for gaming a soundcard is usually not necessary, but i love 5.1, and with that i think i could get a decent setup.

soo guys i'll appreciate anything you can say about this

ps: don't buy wireless gaming headsets

Sound card won't do much for you, most games are limited by their sound engine and work just fine in stereo anyway.

Ps. I got that headset a long time ago too and refunded it same day.

Get the HyperX Cloud for a "headset".  If you want a headphone+modmic combo, what is your budget?

p.s.  Wrong subforum :P

it's the same budget, i may raise it to 140$, but if i can aboid to put more money, better

ps: my bad, i'm new in the forum and i did not see the audio subforum :P

I refunded the Logitech's, instead of a soundcard you should just get a really nice headphone+mic or headset. I don't really like the hyper x clouds because there sorta semi closed and I like full open, but that's personal preference. If you really wanted a headset you could go with the g4ame Zeros or if you wanted a headphone+mic you could go with something like a Seinhesier HD series headphone and a mod mic

the g4ame zeros are way to expensive, and with the sennheiser, the hd 518 would fit well right?

do u also think the sennheiser is one of the best choices?

The sennheiser headphones?  The HD is probably the best headphone series in my opinion.

The mic sounds OK, It's not something that is great for YouTube videos or something, but it's the best for the price if you just want a cheap microphone for commuication.

Sennheiser make some of the best headphones around, I have the g4me one headset and it's the best I've had. Ive heard the hd series are good also, just that they don't have a mic, If you can afford the hd595 go for them.

The HD are way better than the G4ME one, get the HD 558 for your budget.

Headphones will beat any headset, especially the HD 558/598s.

Okay.  One is a gaming headset and one is a pair of headphones.  Which one will sound better?  They're both Sennheiser, making them amazing, but headphones will always beat headsets, as long as the headphones are decent quality.

Yes headphones do sound better than headsets generally, but with the Senns they almost sound identical, I wouldn't compare any other headset in the world with the Senns because no other headset competes Imo and the only way to beat them is by going the headphone route, but I've seen from a few different sources the hd series sound around the same as the g4me and pc series Eg pc350 and pc360.
