OMG XP WTF (genuinely my reaction)

2gb of ram is really not much for Minecraft, it absolutely eats it

Its because you only have half a gigabyte allocated (assuming you're on default). You can add more in the launcher.

Well you see, low resource usage won't really matter when some Russian hacker gets into your machine because it hasn't had a system vulnerability patch in almost 2 years. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsForBusiness/end-of-xp-support

But seriously, yeah MC with mods really needs at least 4GB allocated before things stop exploding.

CPU: i5 4670k • Cooler: Corsair H100i • Motherboard: MSI Z87 MPOWER • RAM: Crucial Ballistix Elite 2x 8GB • Storage: Samsung 840 250GB SSD, 2x WD Red 3TB • GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB • PSU: Corsair RM750W • Case: Corsair 750D • Mouse: Razer Naga 2012 (I actually use the thing for productivity/media buttons) • Keyboard: Ducky Shine 3 w/ Browns - Green LED • Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27" 2560 x 1440, ASUS PB238Q 23" 1920x1080 • Lighting: 2m NZXT Sleeved Blue LED Strip • pcpartpicker.com/p/3cHfZ

You have to allocate more ram,

You can do this the good old way in the java config panel

I did, allocated everything, and i'm left with 20mb free ram (see pic) :P

148 mods :P

148 Mods??? You need to throw it like 6gb of ram, and 4 cores minimun, Minecraft it's so poorly designed even in vanilla keeps wanting more and more ram... And some mods are really bad made!

I'm from Spain so English is not my main language but I'm trying to make my best not writing any typo.

Da hell is wrong with Windows 7?

(A LOT is wrong with Windows 8.1)

I also ran Windows 7 too. Let me tell you what is wrong:

The fancy UI. UI Redraws suck, (seriously, FUCK that shit) when some window becomes unresposive the UI redraws, the icons in the taskbar get refreshed (or stay blank most of the time) and somethimes the whole PC hangs. Then i'ts battery pulling life.

When using classic theme, its usable only then. But then comes the classic Windows 7 crap of programs "Stopping to work" and other bullshit.

I use Linux anyway. :)

I wrote a long post abut my experiences with Linux, and I used every Windows OS since XP but missed Win 7, so I had very little experience with it.

Well IDK about you, but the specific FTB pack I use has ~140.

I have it set to ue about 4GB of RAM. Works p good.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I used Linux for 2 years, but had to go back to Windows for school. (LTSpice, PSpice, DipTrace, Photoshop, EAGLE...)

I dual boot with Win 8 on my laptop. I use Wine (the program) on my desktop for compatibility (if I really need to).
