60 FPS at 1080p

ryyo96

Hi everyone.

This is my PC build. I don't want to order it just yet. I want to know for sure that it will game well. The main game I'll be playing is GTA 5. There will be other games I'll be playing like Skyrim, Battlefield etc...

This is the PC here:

[PCPartPicker part list](http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/34HvQ7) / [Price breakdown by merchant](http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/34HvQ7/by_merchant/)

Do you think this build can play GTA at ultra and very high at 1080p at 60 FPS +?

This will do well in gta but not ultra 60fps. It could do it with maybe no AA or maybe lower a couple of insignificant settings with low AA

Thanks. Would it be worth getting 2 970 in SLI in the future? Or would I be better getting a 980 or 980ti?

I don't think they have GTA V benchmarks yet but here is a pointer.

You can get windows 8.1 very cheap, try Reddit or G2A.

Check if everything is compatible, if everything fits and sits

If you don't have the money now- either wait or get the 970

if you could buy it and think that is a reasonable choice then get a 980-ti

Honestly if you want to not upgrade for a while, 980ti is beastly for the price. If I had anything less powerful than what I do now I would probably be getting one. I can't max out every game anymore now that the witcher 3 and gta are out.

A 980ti everything max including advanced settings only gets like 60. So you'd have to lower some things like AA but yes it could easily get 60fps

Ok. What 980ti is the best in regards to performance and noise level?

Since the 980Ti is fairly new, you should see what aftermarket cooler performs best when they come out. The reference cooler 980Ti is sexy though

Pretty much any aftermarket card will serve you well. I suggest just getting the one that matches your system best or is the cheapest.

you will be fine, I play gta 5 on my overclocked msi 970 at pretty much highest settings only grass set to high and advanced options disabled (they don't add much but you wont be able to get steady frame rate even on 980ti) . I also have 2x mfaa and i rarely get below 60. I think 970 is great and its the best bang for the buck, also play withcer 3 on ultra with hairworks off and it looks and plays amazing. 980ti is a bit overkill for 1080p but if you have the money and want to spend it then get it :)

I have similar specs and I can run the game in 60FPS with everything set to ultra in the Graphical options, haven't touched anything in the "advanced graphics" tab, I rarely drop and it's always around 58-59 with vsync on, without vsync, I get around 70-75FPS when walking in the city.

EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid. It is super quiet because it's all in one water cooler and great for overclocking and getting low temps.

Love cats and Linus. Check out linuscattips-fan-club. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z9QDVn and Asus ROG Swift. I love anime as well. Check out Heaven Society heaven-society. My own personal giveaway thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/387856-evga-geforce-gtx-970-giveaway-presented-by-grimneo/.

Oh my god, this is the hardest decision I've had to make. Haha

Not to sound big headed but money isn't an option. It's only because the build that I've linked costs £1000 and that's without a monitor, keyboard+mouse and speakers. I am a bit of a tight ass when it comes to spending money.

I think I'll go with the 970 the now and see how I go. I can always upgrade in the future.

Well, unless you really care about grass, the 970 is a good option
