You'll want some old Bose bookshelf speakers, but I don't know how you'll reach 1000W though

1000W amps are either garbage, or way too powerful for home use.

When you see a "1000W RMS home theater system", it's not actually 1000W in any terms that you could listen to. They take that 1000W at like 5% THD which is totally unrealistic and those ratings are always "peak" ratings and not sustained ratings.

If you were feeding 1000W from a proper quality amp to proper quality speakers, you'd be blaring the music so loud that you'd shake your house to the ground. That would be a PA system or an actual night club system.

You aren't going to find what you're looking for unless you buy used. I'd suggest that you actually do not buy a seperate amp and speakers on your budget and that instead you look into higher end powered speakers. KEF makes speakers called X300A. They are 150W Bi-amped (A/B class) and have an internal DAC. They connect to a source via USB or you can use a standard 1/8th inch/3.5mm TRS (headphone jack) plug to bypass the DAC if you have a superior D/A solution available. They run about $700 Canadian so that would be about 380GBP and around what you want to spend all in.

I have the non powered version of those speakers (KEF Q300) hooked up to a Marantz amp and they sound VERY good. Very warm, clear, detailed and dynamic sound. They go plenty loud but don't go nuts or you could blow them.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

and want around 1000w

Then you're going to love this: http://www.220-electronics.com/sony-lbtsh2000-dj-club-shake-22-000-watt-sound-system-110-220-240-volts.html

22000 watts of true PMPO power.

If you can find one with more wattages it's better. Always good to pick amps and speakers by their power rating.
