  So my nephew has been using my back up Pc for awhile now and I wanted to build him a "middle of the road" Pc, Most of the games he plays a lot of the Blizzard series of games, some FFXIV and a bunch of my Steam games like Skyrim, Fallout, City Skylines and others.

Heres the list, if you guys can dwindle the price a bit or theres something more appropriate I should look into im all ears. Some things to note, I can either get that CPU for under $150 or the I-3 4130 for under $90. Also the case is something we already have. An im still debating on a SSD just for the OS. .

change the Z97 mobo for an H97

YES, DEFINITELY GET THE SSD

change the 960 to a 2GB model, 4GB probably wont be necessary with the 960 :P

4690K // 212 EVO // Z97-PRO // Vengeance 16GB // GTX 770 GTX 970 // MX100 128GB // Toshiba 1TB // Air 540 // HX650

Logitech G502 RGB // Corsair K65 RGB (MX Red)

Why a Z97 motherboard if you are not going to overclock? Also, you should consider getting an R9 280x instead of a GTX 960

With the 280X you will get ~10-15% more fps compared to the GTX960.

I would get him a cheap 60GB ssd for the OS.

Maybe change the default download destination to the browser, and steam/battlenet to the HDD for him :)

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JscHt6Here's a quick edited list. You can swap the 280x for a 960 if you'd prefer that, but the 280x has more VRAM than a similar priced 960, with a larger memory bus and is a bit more powerful, so will likely last a bit longer.

Thanks =)

heres a build that is similar but about 30$ cheaper and will give you more performance http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WhgBpg I don't know the color scheme so the blue mobo might clash but if it does there's probably a similar priced red one

Edit: nvm I checked and your sol if you want a red mobo without spending 100+ $$ but there is an all black option but it doesn't look all that high end. It's up to you though it is your build not ours

  Well to be honest I wasn't sure if we would be upgrading his Pc to a OC version down the line. Though it does make sense to go with the H97 if hes going to be happy for a few years, then it wouldnt matter cause he would probably need a whole new system by then anyways.

 As for the radeon cards, I have had such bad luck with them they scare me. They failed very early on, the next one was DoA, the third died 4 months in. I got a GTX and never had another dead card since.
