http://wccftech.com/amd-launching-fiji-based-graphics-cards-june/

Part of the reason (if not the main reason) is because they post stuff like "It's officially confirmed" or "Those are official specs" and then start the article with "Our sources told us", "We had an anonymus tip" or "Since this card has that kind of a power connector, this is confirmed rebrand and the specs are...". And that's just from this week. I don't hate them, like every website they have to have click baits and they post stuff among the first (even the rumours), but many don't like that. Also the bandwagon.

WCCF can post as many true rumors/leaks/etc. as they want and still not be considered a trustworthy source. Because for every legitimate leak they post 10 more false ones that look just good enough to make you wonder if it might be true. It isn't how many articles are correct, it's how many articles are correct in relation to the total number of articles they post that determines how trustworthy they are, which means not very. You can't tell if anything they say is true.

Remember when they made an article confirming that the Fury had 8gb of hbm, then the next day confirmed 4gb, confirmed 8gb again in a different article the next day, and then went back to 4gb in another new article a week later? (and they said confirmed in every article, not possible or probable) It's stuff like that that makes them laughable.

That and what Bouzoo posted above. There's not a reason I've seen yet to trust WCCF.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

I personally don't think WCCFTech is much worse than any other click-baity rumor-mill site out there. But when every article is a flurry of anonymous leaks and Chinese sites no one's heard of, it pays to take it for what it is. Just because they end up being right sometimes doesn't mean you were wrong to be skeptical.

Even knowing what I know today, glancing through that article I see that the URLs are mostly to their own site, other rumor sites, or unreliable leaks. There's nothing here to give anyone confidence in the rumor.

Their article starts with R9 390x being FijiXT which is their first mistake. Yes, they have a lot of stuff right, but they have a lot of stuff wrong and some articles are a joke. But almost every website is like that. The only one that comes to my mind that I could say I actually trust is AnandTech.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

they post lots of news based on rumours, lots seem to be false.

people cannot distinguish between a false rumour and fake news.

even if they were right 90% of the time they'd still get hammered for the 10%

Because they'll blurt out whatever they hear immediately without checking and will write of it almost as if it was proven fact, when it is nothing more than a rumour. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are not. But since they take all rumours as seriously as the others there's no way of telling how much truth there may be to their articles.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I dont care, I just like reading new about future products. They post topics and people read it because it could happen. N-one knows yet.

Right, and that's perfectly fine. I like reading that stuff too. But you should just keep in mind the reliability of the sources they're presenting.

For example, the WCCFTech article you posted is basically an article about an article. The only source they really seemed to give is a link to a Fudzilla article, which also didn't provide any sources of merit. That's where WCCF's reputation comes from.
