Sad to hear that.. glad that they're not going to be left undone!

oh I used a pair of fine side cutters didn't really need to sand anything

Oh my experience with using just side cutters arent that great.. I use an exacto blade and some sandpaper as well :P

they have been left in my grandmothers basement since 2006. (some were broken in to peices for convenient storage too. (a 100% acurate model of an early wood plane that he had spent 15 years on had its wings detached (in a brutal way, beyond repair infact) but most of the other models where repairable and the wooden plane wil get new top braces to mount the wings to)

I've done a few(like six) planes before. Now I'm working on a Tamiya Jagdpanther. I suck at painting so I go slowly because I want it to look good.

Are you using tamiya paint?

I have one for testing but it doesn't play nice with brushes.

And I don't have an airbrush. So I don't really have paint for it yet. Some revell paints but I don't think they're the right colour being for planes.

Yeah I painted a prince of Wales with tamiya paint and holy shit it was a bitch to do, would recommend revell paints if u don't want any pain

Luckily revell is very common.

I'm thinking of doing some sort of weathering on the tank. But I have never really done it before so I need to watch some videos on that or something.

You need more tools for it, I've never done it, too random for my artistically limited mind lol

I was thinking of something simple. Like drybrushing and painting the panel lines black. If I tried rust and stuff it'd probably look awful. I'm dreading the camo though.

The camo is quite easy imo, check how many colours the tamiya Prince of Wales 1/350 has, nothing has more colours than that and I did it relatively okay, and I'm not really good

I hope it wont be that bad. I'd like to actually show the models I've built :P

Boats and subs are probably the most decorative in my opinion. They just look so nice.

Yeah I believe we should start a thread with pics of what we've made, I'm super proud of mine, I'm sure there's a couple of us here who do this kind of thing.

I fucking love battleships and aircraft carriers, I've a bucket list of some but they are around 250e just for the model so, not yet

That is a neat idea. Well built models are really nice.

I'm not that proud of mine though.

Just threw out some I made as kid. Fucking awfully built.

I like IJN ships... Currently have a 1:700 IJN Shimakaze from Tamiya on my desk... not my best work...

I'm saving up to buy some paint so I can get started on my 1:700 I-400 from HobbyBoss...

I'm sure you can find some! There are cars too

Pearl custom zero sounds cool to me! how did the sanding of the nubs go though?

You'll have some extra cash some day!

I used to build stuff like this when i was a kid. Can't find them now though

model_pb2.jpg

And i can't seem to find any ships to build from the 16-1800s. The Tirpitz,Yamato and Bismarck from ww2 are interesting though

Managed to find a few wooden kits. But they are pricy as all hell. HMS Victory would be fun

I kept all the worthwile ones. I made some when I still had a small little brother and some explorative cats. Some were literally in a hundred pieces.
